2018 Children of the Doolittle Raiders Meeting

 Dear CDR Family and Friends:

We are pleased to provide information on the 2018 CDR Meeting, which will be held April 20-22 in New Orleans.

We would like to express our utmost gratitude and appreciation to Barbara Lewis, Connie Townsend, Angelle Albright, Donnie and Judy Bourgeois, and Beverly Daigle for all of their hard work in putting together our meeting in New Orleans, which will include 

  • a Welcome Reception Friday evening, April 20, at our host hotel, the Royal Orleans;
  • a breakfast Saturday morning, April 21, at New Orleans’ landmark restaurant Brennan’s;
  • a Guided Tour of the Ursuline Museum Convent immediately following breakfast;
  • a CDR Meeting Saturday afternoon to discuss our planned trip to China in October as well as updates on our other initiatives and efforts;
  • a book signing and auction Saturday evening in the Promenade Room at the Royal Orleans;
  • a two-part Presentation on Sunday afternoon, April 22, at the World War II Museum followed by a book signing
  • The first part of the presentation will feature James M. Scott, author of “Target Tokyo,” Dennis R. Okerstrom, author of “Dick Cole’s War,” and honored guest and final surviving Doolittle Raider Lt. Col. Richard E. Cole.
  • The second part of the presentation will feature Angelle Albright, author of “A Tale of Two Missions” about Doolittle Raider Robert C. Bourgeois and Sister Celina Seghers in China, and CDR member Melinda Liu, daughter of Honorary Raider Tung Sheng Liu, on the Doolittle Raiders in China and current CDR initiatives in China.
  • We will also have the opportunity to tour the World War II Museum prior to and after the presentation.

 If you plan to attend our meeting, you will need to fill out the registration form and return it with payment of $150, which covers the costs of most of our events.

 We are seeking donations of items for our meeting auction, which will be held Saturday evening, April 21, at the Royal Orleans hotel. Please send those to:

We will hand out nametags and packets to registered CDR Meeting attendees Friday afternoon/evening, April 20, at the Royal Orleans. We look forward to seeing everyone at our meeting.
