A badge of shared identity

The Raider emblem.

The recovered collection preserves the historic Raider crest and the case built to carry it—separate from the descendant organization’s new seal used elsewhere on this site.

A badge of shared identity

The historic insignia now has its own evidence trail.

The archived photographs show the crest, its motto, and its fitted display case. Dates, makers, and formal lineage must remain attached to authoritative records rather than inferred from the artwork alone.

01What is visible

The crest reads “Doolittle Raiders” and “Toujours au Danger.”

A B-25, a quartered center, and the surrounding marks form the recovered design. Their meaning should be sourced rather than guessed.

02The handoff

The crest became an object of stewardship.

At the 67th reunion in 2009, surviving Raiders ceremonially passed their crest to a new generation of Airmen for safekeeping.

03Preservation

The archive distinguishes object, image, and interpretation.

Seven recovered image records document the crest and its case while the organization reconciles dates, makers, and usage context.
