Who we are
This website is operated for the Children of the Doolittle Raiders at childrenofthedoolittleraiders.com. It preserves and shares historical material about the Doolittle Raiders, their families, the people who assisted them, and the organization’s continuing work.
Information you choose to send
The contact form collects your name, email address, inquiry topic, and message. The form accepts text only. If a photograph, document, or other record is relevant, an organization representative may arrange a separate transfer method after reviewing your inquiry.
Contact submissions are used to answer questions, evaluate corrections or identifications, respond to scholarship or media inquiries, and decide whether contributed historical material should be reviewed. A submission is not published automatically. Publication, attribution, or incorporation into the archive requires separate review and appropriate permission.
Historical and family material
Please do not send sensitive originals, private records, or information about another living person unless you have authority to share it. When material is accepted for historical review, the organization may retain the submission and its provenance for longer than an ordinary inquiry so the evidence trail remains attached to the record.
Technical and security information
The hosting platform, WordPress, caching tools, and security services may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested URLs, timestamps, login activity, and suspected malicious traffic. This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect the archive and administrator accounts.
Cookies
The public site may use cookies or similar storage that are necessary for security, traffic management, and reliable site operation. WordPress also uses authentication and preference cookies for authorized administrators who sign in. This site does not use the contact form to create a public account.
External links and embedded material
The site links to museums, government records, archives, and other external sources. If embedded media or third-party content is added, the provider may receive technical information and apply its own privacy practices when the content loads or you follow the link.
How information is shared
Contact information is available only to the organization’s designated representatives and service providers who need it to operate, secure, host, or deliver messages from the site. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the site or its users, or investigate abuse. Personal information is not sold.
Retention and security
Ordinary inquiries are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain necessary organizational records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Historical contributions and their provenance may be retained as part of the archive. Security records are retained according to operational need and the practices of the hosting and security providers. Access is limited to people and providers with a legitimate need.
Your choices
You may ask what personal information you submitted through the contact form, request a correction, or ask that it be deleted when the organization has no continuing legal, security, or archival reason to retain it. A request concerning contributed historical material may require the organization to preserve a minimal provenance or decision record even when public display is removed.
Children’s privacy
This website documents a historical and descendant organization and is not directed to children under 13. The organization does not knowingly use the contact form to collect personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate adult involvement. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may contact the organization to request review or deletion.
