In March, 2019  the state of Montana honored Ssgt David Thatcher by naming
Highway 419 in south-central Montana the David Thatcher Memorial Highway. 
During the fall, a dedication ceremony was held and the sign bearing Ssgt
Thatcher’s name has been  placed on the highway.
