Graduated from Elizabethtown High School and entered military service on November 27, 1939 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Graduated from Airplane Mechanic's School and assigned to 89th Reconnaissance Squadron, McChord Field, Washington. Remained in the China-Burma-India Theater after the Tokyo Raid. Killed in Action on October 18, 1942 in airplane crash near Assam, India while assigned to 11th Bomb Squadron and on Detached Service with the 26th Fighter Squadron. Decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Chinese Army, Navy, and Air Corps Medal, Class A, 1st Grade.
Sergeant Larkin was KIA six months after the raid when his airplane crashed near Assam, India.
