Completed two years’ college at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School and one semester at the University of Georgia. Entered military service on May 13, 1940 at Atlanta, Georgia. Completed Bombardier and Navigator training in April 1941. After the Tokyo Raid, he served in North Africa. Killed in Action on April 5, 1943 over Italy. Decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart, and the Chinese Army, Navy, and Air Corps Medal, Class A, 1st Grade.
